The self centered nature of man deliberately jeopardizes any chance of generosity: in simple 'English.' we are 'Self Consumed.' Otherwise how can you explain the height of vanity at the expense of people's well being? When last did you use that Shirt hung in your wardrobe that is now full of cobwebs? What's the plan?
