LACK OF RESPECT AMONG THE YOUTHS
Lack of respect in today’s society can be traced back to the way this generation and the last generation has been raised by their parents. Not all parents are neglectful in their parenting skills .The parents are not the only ones to blame but they are on the front line of discipline their children. Our social mediums are to blame as well with these so-called rearing experts who have their own TV shows. When you check the families some of them came from, if we look at their childhood years probably they had a disciplinarian as a parent and this is their way of revenge against their childhood.
Most of the blame rests on the parents themselves. A majority of today’s parents advocate their responsibilities as parents onto either daycares or the overstressed school systems. What has been the result of this type of parenting is alarming and violent. Lack of respect for parents and authority figures have seen a rise in bulling, suicide, violent acts within the school environment and a rise of crime under the age of twenty-one. With the lack of respect young adults are sponging off their parents more rather than being responsible for their own lives.
Respect begins at home with the parents both teaching it and leading by example of it. Our children are gifts from God, shouldn’t we be treating them like the treasures they are instead of throwing them away like we do with other possessions. The return of honor and respect within the home will change our society as a whole. Look back a few generations when respect and honor were front and center in the home. This country was great then. Now look at where we are today. I cry for the youth because they might not be strong enough to change what parents failed to do and I cry for the parents who have the knowledge to make it right but choose to turn their back on their children.
We have lost respect towards our heavenly father how can our children learn respect from us.
May God help us – Amen.

It was a very long queue and apparently people had become restless. Suddenly, a man dressed in white Agbada accompanied by a Police officer walked in. He looked at the queue for a while, then he headed towards the A.T.M machine while the Police officer who accompanied him stood very close. As soon as the person who was at the A.T.M was done, the man stretched forth to insert his A.T.M, then there was an uproar from the crowd. "Ahan! Oga! People were here before you nau!" Voices lamented. What Followed after that was quite...
