THE REAL TITLE CONTENDERS IN THE EPL
The red devils, Man United, have started the season on a high; winning all three opening matches without conceding a single goal and banging in ten (10). This is the kind of position, the coach, Jose Mourinho, wants any team he handles to be; at the top of their game. The two new signings, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic (i still ponder why Chelsea should let him go) have live up to expectation; so far. Though, Lukaku, is not my ideal “A” class striker. An “A” class striker, shows up also on the big stage. I am of the opinion that, probably Mourinho, signing of Lukaku, wants to concentrate more on the EPL titles, this season. This accounts for the signing of Lukaku and for Ambramohvic (the abrakatabra), his one year extension is to access what he can do during Champions league.
The citizens, Man City, have so many “citizens” to the extent the coach (Pep Guardiola) is finding it difficult to identify the “real citizens”. This accounts for his erratic changes of his starting line ups. It was so confusing that they almost lost their match against Everton at the Etihad. If not for Raheem Sterling that was introduced at the dying minutes; that saved the day. I think, Pep, had realized that the EPL is not the same as La Liga or the Bundesliga; where he won laurels with so much ease. The laurels from La Liga and Bundesliga increased his ratings and placed so much value on him. In other to maintain the status quo, after a season at the EPL without a single title, he went into “panic buying” of players. The “panic buying” of players had made him so confused to the extent he does not know which player to field or which formation to use. The earlier he gets it right the better or it will be another dry season for the citizens at the Etihad.
Is London bridge falling down? . . . . . eeh no! It is my strong opinion that the London bridge is not falling down, for now. The blues, Chelsea FC, have clearly shown resolute in defending the title they won last season. After a shaky start against Burnley, losing at Stamford Bridge. A highly controversial match. The last two matches has shown their determination to save the bridge and is a strong indication of the coach ( Antonio Conte) tactical ability to utilise what he has to grind out  victories. The current predicament of out of favour player, Diego Costa, is an example of what happens to a player when they fail to acknowledge the authority and place of the team Manager. A complete player should not only be talented but also must be discipline. The new arrival, Alvaro Morata, have shown he is up to the task.
Tottenham Hotspur FC, the toffees, should step up their game and show the real class of title contenders. They not being able to hold their own outside the EPL is worrisome. The coach, Mauricio Pochettino,  should do more in terms of tactical play.
Arsenal FC, the gunners,  still taste like the old wine; nothing new. The  humiliation they received from Liverpool FC is a clear indication that when are willing to leave they should be allowed to go. If they are not allowed to go, their low commitment will definitely effect others. The coach, Asene Wenger, has lost touch with modern football. I think it is time for Asene Wenger to go; an injection of fresh technical input is needed.
Liverpool FC, never walk alone, is a team that has so much potential but yet under achievers. This season will not be anything different. Jurgen Klopp, the Reds coach, needs to sign two grade A players to put up real competition within and outside the English premiership.
THE SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA
The African qualifying series for the Fifa World Cup in Russia, 2018 resumes this weekend with the Super Eagles of Nigeria taking on the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon today (01-09-2017) with the return leg on Monday (04-09-2017). The Super Eagles of Nigeria is toping the group with six (6) points while the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have two (2) points. The rivary between Nigeria and Cameroon dates back
“yes! The Cameroonians’ have all the bragging  right because they are the African champions”
“yes! During the era of Roger Miller and Samuel Eto; Cameroon had an edge over Nigerian in terms of tactical discipline”
“yes! Cameroon stopped the Nigeria from qualifying for the World Cup in Italy. 1990”
“yes! Out of five (5) African cup of Nations titles the Cameroonians have won; three (3)won by defeating Nigerians at the final”
If you ask me, despite what is stated above the Nigerian team can do better. How many of us remember that the last time Nigeria played Cameroon was in a friendly match, which Nigeria won by three (3) goals to nothing. I know, your argument is that it was a mere friendly match. But do you also know that, the team Nigeria defeated form the nucleus of the current Cameroon team. I would say this categorically, if the Cameroonians are that good why are they currently rated fifth (5th) in African football ranking? Closely followed by Nigeria in sixth (6th) position. The only department where the Cameroonians currently have an edge is in the area of goal keeping.
We will defeat Cameroon today regardless of who stands in between the post; if
(a)   Leon Balogun and Truce Ekong are both fit to play the central defence role together.
(b)  Avoid the mentality of “na me score am” ; self centered game.
(c)   They take advantage of their team mate in a better position to score.
(d)   In addition to whatever tactical approach the coach has adopted, they should REMAIN FOCUSED THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE MATCH.
In today’s match and in the return leg on Monday, victory is guaranteed if they adhere to what is advised above.
THE D’TIGRESS OF NIGERIA
Our shout out goes to the D’Tigress of Nigeria for winning the Female Afro Basketball completion. This they did in grand style by defeating their arch rival and the defending champions, Senegal, twice! In the group stage and in the final. We single “ stand up for the champions” and twenty-one (21) gun salute to the champions.

She stood over the bridge and as every car passed by, she counted every second. More determined than ever, she wanted to end it all, if she could only jump down fast from the bridge before anyone else could see her. One more time, she looked around, slowly she moved towards the edge of bridge and placed her right leg forward. As soon as she was about to jump, She noticed a beggar just behind the bridge who was staring at her.

"What are you looking at!?" She yelled. The beggar smiled and said: "I saw you and immediately recognized you so I came to thank you for yesterday, your coin saved my life!" The beggar exclaimed. Then she realized it was the same Beggar whom she had thrown her last coin to, as she walked pass the bridge the previous Day.
"You saved my life!"The beggar exclaimed.
Many years later, She is involved in charity works and putting smiles on peoples faces.

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION!  Don't worry this is not an alarm but I know it is worth your time. Have you ever come across little children who actually make use of vulgar languages like it was their nursery rhyme? It Beats your imagination, right? I have often wondered myself, who takes responsibility for this looseness? or is it just me that happens to be outdated? Hmmm, pardon me ooo. In retrospect, I remember growing up, there were places and words that were prohibited thus as a part of training, our association with friends were well checkmated. To a great extent, it really prevented some excesses, here and there. Time is evolving, likewise our norms. There is so much laxity now. Who is to blame? Parents? Teachers?Guardian? Whatever the case may be, there are loopholes and those loopholes must be attended to. We cannot afford to loose our children as a result of our own carelessness. These children are precious jewel we must keep, well protected and secured. We must be u
